Knowledge Gap: 
The purpose of this activity is to educate healthcare providers with the most up-to-date information on SHARE- Connecting Providers and Organizations to Improve Quality Care.

Target Audience
The target audience includes all healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals who would like to learn about SHARE- Connecting Providers and Organizations to Improve Quality Care and how it pertains to their respective profession.

Objectives

1.) Identify the use of appropriately using an HIE, in the timely sharing of vital patient information that can better inform decision making at the point of care and allow providers to Avoid readmissions, Avoid medication errors, Improve diagnoses and Decrease duplicate testing.
2.) Identify the purpose and value of stakeholders using SHARE in the integration of hospitals and clinics in transferring patient information from one organization to another such as Behavioral Health and LTPAC facilities.
3.) Apply strategies for implementation of SHARE throughout the State to improve transitions of care.

Biographical Info

Justin Villines, MBA is an Arkansas native. He is the Health Information Technology Policy Integrator with the Arkansas Office of Health Information Technology working with SHARE on Health Information Technology (HIT) strategies and initiatives. He also teaches Financial Management, Healthcare Management, The Hospital and Community and Health Policy and Issues courses as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Webster University and Park University at their Little Rock and Little Rock Air Force Base campuses.
In his previous roles with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences he has worked on PCMH transformation, published 7 Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) teaching modules for the UAMS Family Medicine Residency programs and as a quality assurance coordinator, evaluating performance improvement requirements for The Joint Commission and The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
He brings a wealth of knowledge in HIT, PCMH practice transformation, quality assurance, facilitating Health Information Exchange and contributing to and leading Arkansas Health Transformation coordinating efforts. Serving in the US Army for 8 years with two tours in Iraq, he attended the University of Central Arkansas at Conway and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and a Master Degree in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He is presently working on his DrPH in Public Health – Community Health Promotion and Education at Walden University.
