Knowledge Gap: 
The purpose of this activity is to provide ongoing education for Arkansas nurses who are involved in the evaluation and treatment of sexually abused children.

Target Audience
The target audience includes nurses who would like to learn about the evaluation of children who may have been sexually abused and how it pertains to their respective profession.

Objectives for SHIPS' FALL 2016


  1. Describe the indications and appropriate methods for testing for HSV.
  2. Discuss the potential indications for referral to pediatric gynecology.
  3. Describe the best contraceptive options for adolescents.
  4. Discuss the appropriate process of testing for trichomonas infection in the setting of sexual abuse.
