Program Overview:
This presentation will give an overview of the basic pharmacology of opiods, opioid rotation, and cross-tolerance.


  1. Review the basics of opioid prescribing (Review from Part I).
  2. Review the basics of opioid rotation and the concept of cross-tolerance.
  3. Review common clinical situations and complete practice problems.

Speaker Bio:
Sarah Harrington, MD, FAAHPM is an Associate Professor of Medicine in the UAMS Department of Internal Medicine, in the Hem/ONC Divisoin. Dr. Harrington is also the Medical Director of the UAMS Palliative Care Program, and Chief of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System's Palliative Care Program.
