Biographical Info

Kemal Kutait, Jr. has been involved in the medical malpractice arena since 1984.  He started working with physicians when he joined a physician-owned medical malpractice insurance company in 1984.  During his employment with the insurance company, Kemal worked closely with physicians and attorneys on medical legal issues and in investigating allegations of medical negligence made against the company’s insured physicians.

In 1994, Kemal joined the team at UAMS and later that same year, became the Director of FGP Risk Management.  Kemal focuses his attention on the medical-legal aspects of the UAMS physician’s practice.  He works with the UAMS physicians anytime there is a risk management issues such as amendments to medical records, problem patients, etc. and anytime there is are medical-legal issue such as subpoenas, patient complaints alleging negligence, malpractice claims and lawsuits.

Kemal is a past member of the Arkansas Hospital Risk Management Association, the Arkansas Medical Group Management Association, and is an active in the Risk Management Division of the University Healthsystem Consortium.  He has a special interest in the subject of Informed Consent and has been published in that area of risk management.   His background in physician malpractice cases as well as his years of service in working with the physicians at UAMS provide him with unique insight into the various risk aspects associated with the faculty and housestaff of a teaching hospital.
