Objectives

  1. Apply clinical reasoning to assess clinical outcomes based on the results of the appropriate outcome measures for the patient with SCI.
  2. Collaborate with clients, family members, payers, other professionals, and to determine realistic an acceptable plan of care and equipment needs for a client with SCI.
  3. Monitor and determine need to adjust the plan of care in response to client status.
  4. Assess and educate the client on prevention of secondary complications related to the diagnosis of SCI.

Biographical Info

 

Dr. Maresh received her BS in PT in 1983, her Advanced Masters in 1998 and her clinical doctorate in physical therapy in 2002 from UCA. She is a board certified clinical specialist in Neurology Physical Therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and is a certified assistive technology practitioner.  Dr. Maresh is a Senior Clinical Instructor at the University of Conway Physical Therapy department. Her clinical specialties are inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, patients with spinal cord injury, amputations, orthotic needs, prosthetic equipment, wheelchair prescription and seating evaluations. Her research interest is in spinal cord injury. Dr. Maresh is also the faculty mentor for the Physical Therapy Club at UCA.
