2017 Acute Stroke Training for the EMT Professional
The EMS Learning Module objective is to increase knowledge of evidence-based guidelines for stroke care for EMS professionals, including but not limited to the following areas:
Recognition of Stroke patients in the field.
Determination of time of onset of patients’ symptoms and time patient was last known well.
iEducation on the (AHA) Stroke Chain of Survival updated in 2010 for Adult Suspected Stroke Care.
Use of standardized pre-hospital stroke scale for BLS and ALS EMS providers.
Advanced skills for EMS providers at the Paramedic level in a pre-hospital checklist for thrombolytic therapy including Blood glucose monitoring.
