  1. Recognition of Stroke patients in the field.
  2. Determination of time of onset of patients’ symptoms and time patient was last known well.
  3. Education on the American Heart Association’s (AHA) Stroke Chain of Survival updated in 2010 for Adult Suspected Stroke Care.
  4. Use of standardized pre-hospital stroke scale for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) for EMS professionals.
  5. Advanced skills for EMS professionals at the paramedic level in a pre-hospital checklist for thrombolytic therapy including blood glucose monitoring.
