Program Overview:

In this presentation, the speaker provides evidence from the literature regarding the surgical maintenance of fibroids in infertility patients.

Objectives:  

  1. Be familiar with the literature on management of fibroids in infertile patients.
  2. Assess which fibroids are likely to impair fertility.
  3. Identify which patients are most likely to benefit from surgery.

Knowledge Gap:
Fibroids are extremely common in reproductive age women. The surgical management of fibroids in infertility patients is challenging.

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Alicia Christy (formerly Armstrong) is a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist. She received a NIH Merit Award for her contribution in the areas of clinical and basic science research, clinical care, and medical education. Dr. Christy recently became co-editor of Contraception and Reproductive Medicine.
