Program Overview: In this presentation, the speaker provides evidence from the literature regarding the surgical maintenance of fibroids in infertility patients. |
Objectives: - Be familiar with the literature on management of fibroids in infertile patients.
- Assess which fibroids are likely to impair fertility.
- Identify which patients are most likely to benefit from surgery.
Knowledge Gap: Fibroids are extremely common in reproductive age women. The surgical management of fibroids in infertility patients is challenging. |
Speaker Bio: Dr. Alicia Christy (formerly Armstrong) is a board certified Reproductive Endocrinologist. She received a NIH Merit Award for her contribution in the areas of clinical and basic science research, clinical care, and medical education. Dr. Christy recently became co-editor of Contraception and Reproductive Medicine. |
