Program Overview:

The TeleGenetics Certification Course includes six hours of pre-work modules which are located in this module. These interactive modules were developed by the South Central Telehealth Resource Center as a source of basic knowledge about TeleHealth. This information represents the best information available to us at the time of creation. Technology changes rapidly and these modules are regularly reviewed and updated to keep pace with industry changes.

Objectives:

  1. Describe Telemedicine and how it serves as a tool for healthcare professions for expanding patient access to care.
  2. Describe the rules for reimbursement, HIPAA protections, and PHI security related to using the modality of Telemedicine.
  3. Explain the changes in behavior one would need to demonstrate when seeing a patient via Telemedicine versus a face-to-face encounter.
