To educate health care professionals on Heart Failure and the effects.


Objectives:
  

1. Explain heart failure (HF) and the effects.
2. Identify modifiable factors affecting heart failure symptoms.
3. Define meaning-driven, symptom-based self-management to improve psychosocial and behavioral status to improve heart failure symptoms.

Speaker Bio:
Seongkum Heo, PhD, RN research interest areas are quality of life, self-care, and symptoms in patients with heart failure. Seongkum Heo, PhD, RN has examined factors affecting self-care, symptoms, and quality of life, and the relationships among the factors. Seongkum Heo, PhD, RN has conducted studies examining the effects of modifiable factors including psycho-social and behavioral factors on symptoms, quality of life, and hospitalizations and mortality. Psychosocial factors include depression, perceived control, and social support. Behavioral factors include medication adherence, dietary adherence, and symptom management. Seongkum Heo, PhD, RN has been involved in development and delivery of dietary interventions to help patients with heart failure or kidney diseases managing diet effectively.
