Program Overview:
The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to describe safe sleep practices for infants in the hospital and at home.

Objectives:  

1. Describe the infant mortality rates in Arkansas.
2. Describe the AAP recommendations for safe sleep environments to reduce infant mortality.
3. Discuss how hospitals can help create safe infant sleep environments. 
 

Speaker Bio:
Angela Rowe is a Clinical Nurse Specialist at Arkansas Children's Hospital. She received her BSN from the University of Central Arkansas, her MSN from Vanderbilt University and is currently working toward obtaining her DNP from the University of Alabama. Angela has led many evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives while practicing as a CNS at Arkansas Children's Hospital, including the implementation of Safe Sleep Practice in the hospital setting.
