Course Overview: The Trauma Performance Improvement Course was developed by the Arkansas Trauma Education and Research Foundation. This one-day course is designed to assist trauma program managers, trauma coordinators, and trauma registrars in setting up and managing their facility’s Trauma Performance Improvement Program including, but not limited to, the collection of data, analysis of data, identification of problem areas and trends, development of corrective action plans and obtaining loop closure.

Course Goals and Objectives: Upon successful completion of the course, each participant will be able to:

  1. Identify the major components of a trauma performance improvement program;
  2. Identify audit filters and indications for use in the trauma performance improvement program; and
  3. Discuss how the “loop is closed.”
