Biographical Info Pamela Higdem, BSN, RN, CIC, CRCST/CHL is the Director of Infection Prevention at UAMS. She has been a nurse for 41 years with over 30 years of experience in Infection Prevention. Her certifications include certification in infection control (CIC) since 1995; Post Baccalaureate Certification in Public Health from UAMS in 2010; and in 2011 she completed requirements from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician and additional course work for the Certified Healthcare Leader. Her interest in the Sterile Processing Field lead to her being chosen as one of the national instructors for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Healthcare System where she completed a 30 year career prior to employment at UAMS. Pam has mentored Infection Preventionists (IP) across the state of AR and lead the national VA-IP group from 2011-2013.
